Before DMC-L1 there was DMC-LC. Better looking then later models and even better looking then the Leica variation for less.

DMC-LC: No longer in production. Consisted mostly of medium-size, mid-range cameras, but also included the high-end LC5 and LC1, which were also sold as the Leica Digilux 1 and Digilux 2 respectively.

The Digilux 2 is a digital camera model sold by Leica Camera AG supplies, with the body manufactured in Japan by Matsushita, which sells a variant as the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1.

The main selling point of the Digilux 2 is that it functions in a manner reminiscent of a rangefinder camera; the Leica lens features manual zoom, aperture and focus rings and the shutter speed can be manually adjusted via a dial on the camera. Many users cite the excellent Leica DC Vario-Summicron lens as their reason to purchase.
